Zodiacal Moon Series

This multimedia project was created between January-August 2023 as a way to honor each New and Full Moon throughout 2023. Each piece has either a New or Full Moon, the archetypal symbol for each sign, a boarder created from a stone/crystal that is associated with that sign, and some have additional symbology associated with that sign or time of year. Much of the symbology is associated with how I know that time of year/season, as someone who lives in the Blue Ridge Mountains of the US/Northern Hemisphere.

Aries has symbology representing Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, and Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, incorporating a red Hojas de Ńire, a tree that grows in Argentina. Gemini includes symbology of the peacock, which is what the Arabians saw instead of our common twins: Castor and Pollux.

Each one of these pieces was built digitally through photoshop, all illustrations are done by me. They measure 8”x8”
